The Vancouver Trade & Convention Centre opened it's doors to great acclaim for sustainable design. They didn't have to search far for a local tile manufacturer to produce the unique entrance floor. Approached by the convention center to collaborate with local artist Derek Root to create an original lobby floor, Interstyle Ceramic & Glass quickly transformed an inspiring painting into a stunning glass floor reality.
From concept to completion the project included computer imaging, custom coloring, 12 weeks of labor intensive manufacturing and precision meshing of over a 500,000 pieces of 1"x1" glass floor tiles. The result is an awe-inspiring and one of a kind hand crafted glass mosaic floor.
